    It makes me feel slightly dirty

    anyhoo - any Mac web designers? What HTML and or CSS editor do you use. I use Topstyle Pro, which is hands down the greatest editor I have ever used, but it's PC only. I've started to use BBEdit - not sure how much I like it - any others?

        A text editor is a text editor... I think a nice keyboard is more important than good software, when it comes to typing code.



        So, now that you're on a Mac... I bet you really miss making websites in Microsoft Word and Front Page. j/k

            I haven't used textmate before so I can't give you any thing to compare with. Ned is right though, a text editor is a text editor. As long as you like the way it highlights your code, and it has enough features to satisfy you, then it should work just fine. I use bbedit simply because the interface is very clean, it has a built in FTP client, and I can quickly navigate through functions and classes in my code.

              I'm a PC user, but I have no problems with Macs. As far as software, I'd try to use Dreamweaver because it actually finishes a lot of code lines for you. A pop-out list comes up with you start typing and as you slowly limit the options from "a" to "ahref" it gives you less choices and eventually fills in the code you're looking for. Being a person that is doomed to have typos for life, I love that feature.

                Read the thread, dreamweaver is not an option.

                As for the right-side, **** that. A computer is a tool period. No need for "my tool is bigger than yours" discussion

                EDIT: Textmate looks nice. I think I will give it a trial run.

                    indeed - nothing more dull that the whole PC / MAC debate. I have a PC at work too, (MAC on left, big monitor in middle, thinkpad on right)but as I access it via remote desktop it's a bit laggy.

                    That plus the fact that CS2 is on the Mac it makes life much easier to just use the MAC as the development machine

                    I'm so used to TopStyle, and I know it so well that BBedit just feels weird. I guess I just need to get used to a different editor. I'm going to test out Textmate this week

                        they see no need to have it - we all hand code, and so DW just becomes the world's most expensive text editor!
