My main question is Caslon still being used today in magazines, or ads, or commercials. If so where could i find these ads or commercials that are used today. I want to compare the way it was used back in the day but can't put my finger on any recent or a few years back designs which were using caslon.

Caslon is a nice face. If it looks good for what you're doing, use it. I don't think type faces have expiration dates. -

I can't say what recent work has used it, but I'd venture to say that if Adobe went so far as to release it as an OpenType version, that there's still a demand for it.Comment

Architectural Digest isn't using it (at least on their website). I didn't check further to see what it might be. Neither is the New Yorker, although I only looked at the online version, don't know if they might be using it somewhere else within the print version.Comment

Caslon is like blue jeans, it will never go out of style. It is a classic & elegant typeface that has stood the test of time and been around for over 200 years. Caslon was even used on the declaration of independence.Comment

yeah i understand that its a typeface thats been around for many years and has been used on the declaration of independence and even the united states constitution and that many designers use/used this face but what forms of advertisment has it been on recently. any major ad commercials/ any print media magazines thats my biggest dilema.Comment

Sorry, but that's a hard question.
You want us (somebody) to look thru magazines to see who uses Caslon? It might be easier to ask which publications use 70# gloss text.
There are thousands of fonts, many LOOK like Caslon. It's just not practical. That sounds like time involved research.
