  • CD Cover Size

I think there is a lot of confusion regarding cd cover sizes. No matter how you slice it or dice it, here is the sizes for a cd cover. I haven't encountered sizes different than these with all of the printers I've used. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. Hope this helps as I've noticed a few posts on here regarding proper cd cover sizing!

2 panel (meaning a front image with text and stuff on the backside)
    4.7188" x 4.75"
    that equals 119.8562mm x 120.65 mm

4 panel (thats double the size of the two panel because it's folded in half giving you technically 4 pages)
    4.7188 x 9.5
    or 119.8562 mm x 241.3 mm

Traycard (thats the back of the cd case and the spine)
4.625 x 5.90625 this size allows for .25" on both ends for the spine
or 117.475 x 150.02 mm with 6.35 mm allowed on both ends for the spine

    CD Itself
Most printable areas of a cd are 116mm x 116 mm with a 27 mm hole in the center

Right on, Cornfed. And if you need templates for what you are designing, take a look here:

    http://www.discmakers.com/templates/tempfinder/

I use them and they work out great. They have quite a variety.

That's actually pretty good. Not an easy breed to draw at all. I have to say I am definitely impressed by your steadfastness to keep learning

As a set, they look good together, but they should be strong on their on also. They remind me of the Penguin Classics book covers designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith.
