In short, most of it's on layers with a layer style of outer glow and you use brushes to create those shapes, many times custom brushes with lots of dots to simulate a "firefly cluster" effect.

This one is interesting. The original photograph referenced is sort of like one my ex-girlfriend had taken of her, where she she is writing her name in the air with some kind of sparkler, and the photographer used a delay-time to capture the entire name. It looked pretty cool. Of course, my first thought was, 'that would've been easy to do in Photoshop'.

If your client has already seen your website, I wouldn't push the samples/sales angle. Be prepared to listen, and yes to bring business cards.

I once had a photo of my NFL team beating the client's favorite team in the Super Bowl on my desktop.

Apparently I'm not allowed to like anything, however, I move to replace the word like with quickies, tacos or bacons

Would you do work with a "professional" of any sort that didn't at least have a business card? Even kids that mow lawns in the neighborhood have cards.

Hello nbarbera and welcome to the GDF.

Can you post a screen cap of what you are referring to? It will help us understand better what you mean by "looks crooked".

            PLEASE NOTE:...

I created this flyer and the text looks crooked to me even though it lines up on the grid. I think it's an optical illusion, but I don't know why exactly it's happening or how to fix/avoid this kind of...
