  • Fancy title

    #1
    OK creatives...

I need to shorten my coworker's title to fit on a business card, and she wants somehting fancy (important sounding). Her title is... Customer Service Assistant and Data Entry Assistant. Any ideas?

How bout CSA/DEA that sounds important?!

    or Cuservant and Datryant?

Or you could just take out the first Assistant and the word Data... Customer Service and Entry Clerk Assistant?

Otherwise, I dont know what to do?

      How about "Assistant"?

                  Customer and Data Manager

This way, when she comes to ask for a raise, ask her what's she's done since becoming Manager that warrants it

That's why I chose "Idiot" for my title... no where to go but up

                        Why have both?
Customer Service sounds like that person answer the phone, Data Entry sounds like that person types said customer info into a computer.

So, Customer Service Assistant sounds better to me than Data Entry which sounds like somewhat belittling. Plus Customer Service not only sounds more important (in the idea that this person can handle the needs of the customer) but it also sounds like it could encapsulate Data Entry as well.
Just shorten Assistant to Ass. or Ass't or maybe even Customer Service/Data Entry Assistant.

Just get rid of title. Why do we have to have labels? Why do we have to put ourself in neat little boxes. We don't do job titles here, not on business cards not anywhere. You only limit yourself. Then you end up hearing, "it's not my job."

Definitely. Although some people have specialized roles and they shouldn't have to worry about what someone else does, if something needs to be done, it needs to be done. I experienced a ton of that apathy at the last job, and am still experiencing a bit of that here. I still believe that titles should be given though, at least to give those outside of the business the know-how of who to call or what you actually do.
