  • Baseline Magazine

    Hey guys,

Just doing some uni research and was wondering whether anyone has heard of/read Baseline Magazine?

There is an online version at:
    http://www.baselinemagazine.com/

It's a typographic magazine and I'd be interested to hear anyones thoughts/comments on the publication itself or typography/design magazines in general! What do you love/hate?

    Thanks for your comments.

This is the first time I heard of this magazine, I looked at the website honestly its not that captivating I mean the design and the layout. As I'm a fan of magazine I usually read online magazine compare to others I find it very simple, I suggest to put some images/photos. But I appreciate the pagerank of your site.

I doubt the OP owns Baseline. This zine has come up before as the topic of someone's class brief to 'make it more teen friendly'.

No no...Baseline is a typography magazine based in London.
It is one of the most famous typographic magazines.
I'm just researching it for uni.
        Thanks for your comment though...
the online version reflects the print version in terms of simplicity.
We were expecting that type of response

It's an old thread, but I'll jump in.

              1. Too many people regard designers as simply being those with the tool-using skills to implement client ideas and make suggestions about making things...

Looks nice, but as Kayekaye said, the shadows need some work. Shadows are never an even gray. In the real world, the shadows very close to where the balls meet the surface would be nearly black and fade...

I'll suggest soaking up everything you're told -- even when it's with a grain of salt. At this point your professors know more than you, and there'll be plenty of time a ways down the road (when you've...

Reply to Typesetting. Can you spot my obsession?
              B
I don't think today's typesetting is comparable to Gutenberg's work. It's a bit like comparing the Wright brothers to contemporary aviation engineers. Both Gutenberg and the Wright brothers made huge,...

If this is for you as a designer its is way too busy. Do some research and design a much more streamlined layout based on a grid.
