Having exported a path from Photoshop to illustrator so I can have a nice clean vector - why is nothing showing in Illustrator???

  • #2
make sure the path is saved in photoshop
and that you are exporting that path
    then open it in illy
select all and give it a stroke

still doesn't work? hmmm not sure

Istead of exporting the path the easiest thing to do is cut and paste it. Cut the path from illustrator, go to photoshop create a new document and select paste, you will be given the option to save a a path. Go to WINDOW (top menu) then paths - this will give you the paths menu/panel and you should be able to see your path as a work path. I suggest you save it (arrow to right of panel) then apply a stroke to it as Spanky suggests.

the path is there. just that it is transparent fill and stroke. select all (Cmd-A or Cntrl-A) and select a color for either the fill or stroke.

caught me off guard the first time i ever did this.

          enjoy

ps. if you exported path to illustrator from photoshop, this is exactly what happens and is fine.

ssssshhhh ... its t'other way round TR...from pshop to illy

yeah, you just save your path for this so no need to save the actual pshop file. when you've drawn your path in pshop, use the path pallete (same pallette as layers usually and in the top right hand corner of that pallette there's a menu) to make sure the path is saved.
Then using the file menu, export the path to illy making sure you're exporting the path you just saved.
then open in illy and apply the stroke/fill

I'm not going to bother saying what's already been said, I agree with it. I would suggest showcasing one area of interest per poster.

It's done by "hand". No plug-ins. No scripts. The designer uses their design skills to create ... um ... designs. Take a look at the video and links on this 2012 thread. All hand done from the...

Yeah, the hierarchy is an issue. The "ITD" and how it is rendered is more feint than the items surrounding it. The illustrations are nice, but unfortunately, not really important. I would not...
