    Yoo Hoo!

Need some help please. I have 2 memory sticks for my digital camera, however, when I put them in the camera it says that there is no memory available, but when I plug the camera into my computer and open the stick icon - there is nothing in it???? How could this be, and how can I clear the sticks cos they aint cheap!!

    Thanks in advance

Can't you just format them through the digital camera's menu? If there's nothing on them, you shouldn't mind formatting them.

Sorry Craig - these things are not my strong point, what does that mean?

or possibly, you moved the file safe tab on the side of the cards.

reformat it. One thing I learned, when I used my memory stick an my Mac, i'd delete the files off of it, but if I didnt empty the trash while the memory stick was in, the "phantom files" would still be on the card. (youd open the card in finder and it was empty but there were still files stored in the trash from my memory stick!) Anyway, that could be your problem. Just reformat and make sure you completely delete files from now on. Hope that helps...

Also, remember to format the cards from your camera, not from a card reader attached to your computer. If you still can't se sh*t, but the camera refuses to take any more pictures claiming the memory card is full, there's something wrong with the card. You can download/buy recovery software to fetch out most of your photos, but depending on the case you may lose some or all.

Put the stick into your computer and then empty the trash.
It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" – Winnie the Pooh
