hi guys. just wondering if anyone here knows how to make this effect in Illy. Its gotta do something with the line segment tool. just cant fig it out how. might be some plug-in or something. love the effect.

I think there is a plug-in but you can do it manually or with a math script. It looks like it was R&Rd then was clipped to shape after the fact using Pathfinder though. -

its not a plug in guys, i can't remember how to do this though, one of my designer buds showed me this a couple years back, and I never had any use for it so it got deleted from my brains hardrive. but its not a plug in, i know that for sure.Comment

Choose the line tool. Draw a line. In the stroke menu, give the stroke width you want. Now, delete the line. Draw another line, but this time, keep the mouse button held down and press and hold the ` key (the key at the top left, also has the ~ symbol on it) and start dragging your mouse around. The faster you drag, the wider the gaps become.Comment
