  • Graphic Tablet...

    #1
Word up! I'm after a nice, sleek, compact graphic tablet for web based graphic design. I looking at maybe a A5 kind of size - something I can carry about with my laptop, and rest on my lap.

Can anybody recommend a good one? Wacom seems to be a good choice - but they have such a wide product range I can't choose!

    Any help greatly appreciated... thanks.

Really it depends on what you want.

The Graphire is a lot cheaper, but the Intuos has a greater range of pressure sensitivity, has tilt sensitivity and fancy stuff like tool ID.

i have a graphire and i'm pretty happy with it. i don't know if you'd really need the extra features of the intuos unless youw ere really into illustration and digital painting, so if you're on a budget, the graphire should be just fine. go to wacom.com, they have a guide there that helps you choose the tablet appropriate for your needs.

Ok... just got my Wacom Intuos3 A6 Wide... and love it.

Anybody know where (in the UK) I can get hold of a nice protective carry case for it?

Ideally something lightweight since it will need to go in my already heavy laptop bag.

remember if you're left handed to go for the A5 Wide intuos3 as it has the quick tool buttons and touch strip on both sides of the actual drawing area unlike the A6 Wide......damn those right handers i don't know if this applies to them all, but if you get the A5 Wide then you get a (wet suit style) carry sleeve for it.........i love mine, it's amazing!!!

Look son, Wacom's got that top of the line Technology, so they pretty much got the tablet game on lock, ya dig? I don't settle for any of those other wack products those other jokers try to push. The 6(8) is where it's at.

What's Wacom Direct? I went to wacomdirect.wacom.com and it asks for a login.

                        Hi!

I am new to the world of the design, self-taught and work in Inkscape. So far I have started designing cute little designs for T-Shirts, gifts and so on. You can see my designs (which...

I actually ended up going with RichCopy. It's free, only overwrites files that have been changed since last backup (quicker backups,) and doesn't compress or pack the files. My brother who is an IT tech...

Actually, not so bad for a beginner. The thing is, it's not only a matter of doing it "correctly;" it's one of those things that simply takes practice. It's no different than when you were new...

                        I use Cobain Backup http://www.cobiansoft.com/index.htm

It's real easy to use and doesn't change your files in any way.
