hey guys, my wife's sister used to be a pretty good calligrapher, but kind of got out of it. the last pen and nib set i used was back in my design 1 class, so i have no idea what i would get her.

i've been looking around (google *is* my friend!) and have checked several places, and run into shaeffer, parker and staedtler sets.

does anybody know if one of these brands is a little more toward the serious artist over the others? i think she would benefit from some finer tools, buti am seriously out of my league here. been everywhere from dick glick to amazon to office depot.

any thoughts? thanks mucho in advance.

Im no expert (at all ) but I don't think you'd go wrong with any of the above makes, as long as you buy one of their top quality sets.

Im not sure about shaeffer but parker and staedtler cater for a wide range of abilities. You get what you pay for with them.

I used to dabble a bit in calligraphy and I still have a trusty staedtler set.
