Hello, I am starting work again on a logo for a friend's computer company. I was just thinking, that since this is a paid job, maybe I had to report taxes on it? Or do I have to have a business license to be doing this? Are there any problems with this single job? Any help? I don't really know what I'm asking, I guess just how to go about making the single job legit.

I think you have to make over a certain amount of money in a year to have to report it, can't remember the exact number, but it's in the thousands at least i believe

Speaking of freelancing, I was doing a bit last week before I got this job, truth be told I never actually did any work before hearing about this position, but I then received a cheque for £600!

      Not bad

Why do people start a business (and freelancing is a business) without doing the proper research before hand.

It's not just what you bring in on the job, it's what you bring in for profit on the job. You need more advice than I can give you on how to set up a proper business accounting to include income, expenses and overhead.

And the reportable personal income is more like in the hundreds of dollars, not thousands. Last I heard, I think it was somewhere around $600, but I'm not an accountant.
