Graphic designers tend to print things sooner or later. Printers for the most part use CMYK inks. You have to know how and when to use them.
And when not to.
Not every print process is CMYK.
Not every CMYK printer wants CMYK imagery.

I don't think the picture frame is working. I had to read your description to work out what the shape was. If the runner silhouette was somewhere else in the design I might recognise the shape better.
