I am trying to slice http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~mp256604/website.jpg up. I do it and I what that white part to be where the text goes for news, etc... But I cant figure out how to do this, can any1 help me out with this?

Welcome to GDF, mvpags.
Could you please re-explain EXACTLY what it is you're having trouble with. From my understanding, you want to just slice the photoshop image up into smaller parts, yes? All you need to do that, is position your grid lines in photoshop, and crop each section accordingly. Otherwise, if you have a recent copy of Photoshop or ImageReady, you could probably break it up into parts using an in-built export feature of some kind (I've not done this myself, but I recall it is possible in ImageReady at least).

First of all thanks for the welcome
Sorry if I wasnt clear. Ok the middle section with the white...I am tryin to make that a bground image so I can add html on top of that. I do have PS 8 and I am using the slice tool in Imageready. I understand slicing and how it makes everything into tables. But I cant get the middle section to be a Table Row by itself, so when I go and try to make it an image it screws everything up. I dont know if you understand that, but sorry im still new at designing and its hard for me to explain =). I had this tutorial that I was following but the site has been down or I'd link it to you.

Any chance you can post a link to your html page!? It sounds like you're just having trouble creating a table cel ... as for making a table row an image, you cannot do that. Images either need to be inserted into table cels, or used as cel backgrounds.
To make the background of a cel use an image, use this:
background='your_image.gif'

Thats's the website...it just looks like a big picture cause I haven't edited the slices yet, but you can get the html from the source and hopefully tell me what I am doing wrong.

Try this:
<html>
<head>
<title>website</title>
<meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'>
</head>
[b]
<!-- ImageReady Slices (website.jpg) -->
<table id='Table_01' width='750' height='563' border='0' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'>
<tr>
<td colspan='3'>
<img src='images/website_01.jpg' width='750' height='215' alt=''></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td rowspan='13'>
<img src='images/website_02.jpg' width='46' height='348' alt=''></td>
<td>
<img src='images/website_03.jpg' width='112' height='25' alt=''></td>
<td width='592' rowspan='13' background='images/website_04.jpg'></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<img src='images/website_05.jpg' width='112' height='25' alt=''></td>
</tr>
<tr>

Ok I finally got it to be a background image so I can actually type on it now. But look what happens when I try to have text scrool down, whats the best way to do this? http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~mp256604/website2.htm See how it spreads everything out as I type farther down, how do I get it to stay all in that space?

Your design is fixed. That means, your layout is designed to be at it's default dimensions. As such, if you place more text than you expected in that cel, the table and general design around it, will have to expand and adapt, in order to fit all the text in. You always need to bear this foresight in mind when you decide on any layout design, so you know how to code it. As it is, you could place an iframe, or scrollable div within that cel, so the content within, will have it's own scrollbar. Thus, the main layout (as you had it) will remain in tact.
Seeing as you're obviously very new to this, I recommend reading some posts on this site, to get you started with the basics of html, before you go any further. It isn't as hard as you think. If you give yourself just this weekend to go through some basics, you'll find it invaluable.
