  • New Windows Logo

Recently i've been reading how a lot of people including designers really hate the new Windows 8 logo. While others have said that it works only under the brand strategy and in context.

I thought they did a pretty good job, works with the new metro interface, what do you guys think?

Don't love or hate it - it's a simple logo. Probably way overpaid for it. But at least it wasn't crowdsourced.

There was a thread about this ages ago?

Anyway - Windows is such an established brand name that it doesn't need to dress itself up in shiny 2.0 graphics with drop shadows and gradients.

There's plenty of things out there that claim other logos ripped off Windows other Colourful Windows logo - like Google Chrome for example.

Who can blame them for going for something that nobody would want to rip off?

This new logo means nothing to me. It doesn't scream "Windows!" the way the four-colored blocks do and quite honestly says, "we're going to our enterprise users and forget the rest of you." "You want to play games? Go to another platform." :You want to work with audio/video? Go to another platform." "We know where we're wanted and that's who we're focusing on from here out.
That's what the new 'old' logo says to me.
