  • Best Adhesive to stick photo paper to boxes (product labels)

    #1
I'm noticing a huge difference in print quality from photo paper to label paper (avery). I think I'd like to use photo paper for labels.

Is there a good adhesive to quickly bond the photo paper label to the cardboard box? I'm thinking 3M Super 77. But I don't like the idea of spraying. I'd rather have a quick glue stick or a stamp sponge method if possible.... Or???

Curious if there's already a good solution to this out there.

The best thing for bonding paper to paper (or cardboard) is rubber cement. However, that probably won't be practical for what you're doing.

3M spray adhesive works very well as well.

These are box labels and will be kept indoors (probably under glass). Also I'd think the photo paper should be somewhat water resistant. I'd definitely say most spray adhesives are waterproof (solvent based).

Hello 777funk, have you tried elmer's products? I googled it and some people are recommending it, maybe Craft Bond Extra-Strength Glue Stick ? find their website and choose Elmer's > Glues & Adhesives > Craft, good luck!

What I'd do is get a roll of laminating adhesive and press mount it to the back of the photo paper after printing. Those suckers would never come off.

The other option is to explore other options besides Avery CracknPeels.

Unless they are wax toner laser prints, it doesn't take much water to get inkjet ink to run on photo paper...

You're right! Just tested it and man o man. I'll have to spray a sealer over top of these things. Water will completely mess up the inks. Good to know.

When you said hope it doesn't rain, now I know what you mean. Probably even just someone's sweaty hands handling the boxes would run the inks.

                  Laminate the faces too.

Lots of places that sell photo papers sell sealers. I figure probably any top coat would work even clear spray paint. Kind of a hassle though.
