  • Arby's New Logo

This is just bad in every way. Their old logo was classic and fit their brand nicely. The new one is just a poor attempt to modernize something that shouldn't be modernized.

I think it coulda used some modernizing (the old logo screams 1978), but I think this new one is rather bland, and that's after looking past the 3D effect (which is on the hat but not on the text... weird).

It doesn't read Arby's to me at first glance. I was trying to make a letter out of the hat and it looks like the "r" is way embarrassed and trying to hide in the design. Yes, I agree Brie, the bevels are hideous.

It should be in black and wearing black rimmed glasses.
But then, it's exactly what I've come to expect from today's logo designers.
Lower case and round. I'm surprised the hat wasn't simplified into a red stroked circle.
              That would have been perfection.

It's just another example of a designer creating a logo that follows a current trend rather than designing one that will stand the test of time. I wonder if they'll rebrand themselves again in 5 years when the whole round/lower case/shiny trend comes to an end.

Yikes that is hideous. I was just thinking to myself the other week as I drove past Arby's how perfect their logo is for the company. Now I'll cry when the signs change lol.

                    totally sucks.
I saw this yesterday over at Under Consideration (I go there every morning).

"take the existing hat and warp it into 3D...now make it lowercase like everyone else."
so, will these be made into signs for their stores? I know there is one somewhat close to me...wonder how the new look will relate to that.

here's an approach a designer took after seeing this new version: http://drbl.in/fstQ

Current? Modern? This is something I would have expected to see 10 years ago. But, just like their food, and prices, it doesn't appeal to me.

                            This has me thinking:

                            "LLLLLogo stationery vector files,
                            logo stationery vector files,
                            logo stationery vector files
                            got all just for $2.99"

It's almost like it has identity issues, they're not sure if they're cowboys or metro-sexuals.

I actually ended up going with RichCopy. It's free, only overwrites files that have been changed since last backup (quicker backups,) and doesn't compress or pack the files. My brother who is an IT tech...

Actually, not so bad for a beginner. The thing is, it's not only a matter of doing it "correctly;" it's one of those things that simply takes practice. It's no different than when you were new...

It's real easy to use and doesn't change your files in any way.
