Howdy. This is my first post.

I'm a graphic design student at Oklahoma State University. I am an active poster in a few guitar-oriented forums, and I look forward to learning with and from you all.

I've been tasked with designing a site about architect Rem Koolhaas. The assignment is our introduction to coding, so its not going to be very complex.

I'm wondering if anyone here has read his essay "Junkspace". I'm interested in hearing some feedback about it from a graphic design perspective. It was an interesting and frustrating read full of abstract ideas of what Koolhaas calls junkspace, but no solid definition.

This really doesn't have much to do with the project aside from trying to understand some of his ideology, and perhaps seeing it applied to an arm of design I am more familiar with.

      Welcome aboard!

I haven't read it, but I think he's just talking about letting out the crotch of his pants. Pretty sure.

First: research has everything to do with any project; it's 90% of the work.

Junkspace is like the town of Chernobyl.

I noted, with a very basic google search, that you can pull up a wide variety of information on the man and his work, including several different versions of his Junkspace essay.

I did download a copy, but I have not read it yet.

Heck, my blades on my wheels look more like pushmower blades. More cutting surface to "mow down" those nasty zombies.

Any why is that? I'm fairly new to this type of work/printing. I was a silk screener previously so I've had the program experience but I've always had to convert my designs to positives for textile printing....
