  • Fireworks CS6 PNG resizing issue

    #1
    Evening all,

New here - hope this is the right place to post this.

So I'm an amateur graphic designer and having some issues with Fireworks CS6 and PNG resizing.

I'm creating a logo for my new freelance biz and can't figure out why vector shapes are losing pixels when I resize them . You can see the trial logo here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/91984423/logo%20trial.png.

If you drop it down to a height of 200px, for example, a couple of pixels go missing. I think/hope I'm being really dumb and that some bright spark here can solve my issue in a couple of seconds

Cheers in advance for any help.

    Best,

    Jonty.

So out of the 61,400 pixels in the 307x200-pixel image which two pixels seem to be missing?

Sorry, should have been more specific - I get three pixels missing, as you can see in the following image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/91984423/log...l%20shrunk.png

Here my version shrunk - 3 pixels missing, which I've marked. Very confusing!

Hmm, I see what you mean, and I got the same results when I resized your original in Fireworks. Photoshop, interestingly enough, doesn't do that. Strange.

I do notice, however, that there's a gap between some of your color shapes. Maybe there's a rounding error of some kind that happens as a result of that when the image is down sampled. I don't know. I rarely use Fireworks, so I'm probably not the best person to venture a guess.

I'm glad it's replicating at least - thanks for the quick response. Would love to hear if anyone else has any ideas on why this is happening.

Strange bug! If you increase the size of one of the bars by pixel or two and move it to the back (so it looks the same), you don't get that problem.
