What is/are your dream design project/s? You know those ones that you would love to do "one day". Or maybe you have already done them?

AMAZING OFFER!!! If you share your dream design projects in this thread, they have a 58% increased potential of becoming reality.

    My dream design projects are:
    1. Art direct, style and design a cookbook
    2. Illustrate and typeset a children's book
    3. Design a restaurant from top to bottom: interior, exterior and all graphic design

I want to do a logo for a big national brand. One where people see it every day.

I'd also like to do one for a professional sports team (preferably hockey).

      Love this thread, Buda!

      Here's a few of mine:

      1. A logo for a big national brand. One where people see it every day. - lol, thanks Cosmo, it's always been my dream too!

      2. Illustrate and write a children's book. heh, seriously, I'm not just a dream catcher...

      3. Design for my own small business launch - I've always wanted to open either a family restaurant, bakery/sweets shop or some crafting/small boutique. Someday.

      4. Art direct for a major organization (could be a nonprofit) - where I can call more of the shots.

      5. Be the head book cover designer for a major publisher like Penquin or Random House, etc.

      6. Design my own wedding materials. heh, no prospects atm, but one day!

And a couple I've already had the chance to do, -

      1. Work as the primary designer/illustrator for a major nonprofit that I support.

      2. Design a coloring book - I got to design four actually (including one of sketches for my niece).

        ^^ great lists guys!

I already designed my own wedding invitation/maps/RSVP cards/order of service/seating plan....collateral. I *might* have gone overboard, but if a designer can't go overboard for their own wedding invitations, when can they go overboard? I was super lucky, my boss gifted all the printing costs as a wedding gift.

After a whole career of doing this sort of thing, I've gotten to work on most of the things that I set out to do — some not as much as others. One thing I haven't done much with, however, is packaging. I've done a few software boxes, but that's about it. Being in charge of a higher-budget packaging project where I actually get to design more than just the label would be fun.

I would to do a classic or vintage design / lettering job for a firehouse mainly on their trucks. (Goldleaf and all.)

It's kinda odd, I have no dream job aspirations, though I'd love to work as a consultant on an educational museum exhibit that didn't have a really tight budget constraint (in other words, "dream on." ).
I've worked on a few that were well-budgeted, but not as a creative consultant.

I've been lucky? driven? enough to have had the opportunity to work on many "dream" projects. Sorry PD, I've even had the "no budget restraints" scenario, albeit not on a museum exhibit.

What would I like to do that I haven't already done? Hmmm, I'd love to hear some ideas on that front...

Definitely a children's book! Always, always wanted to design one. A friend of mine illustrated one for the Goodnight Moon series. I always buy one for baby showers and it's so cool to see her name & illustrations on the cover.

I live for projects that the client doesn't ask for one or more of the following:
                      • everything to be made bold
                      • the logo to be made bigger
                      • several drafts of small changes to their copy
                      • the project to be delivered "yesterday"
                      • to use a specific font for body copy that has no business being used for body copy
                      • to add an obscene amount of text after a number of drafts have been reviewed

I get jobs like this often enough, but these are the projects I dream for, it doesn't matter what it is so long as the project runs smoothly without absurd request that I could easily list off several reason why not to execute them.

Hmm, I'd love to do a book cover, or a cover for the New Yorker, and illustrations for magazines!

I think I am getting a bit better with the pen tool, but let me know if you see where I can improve? Also, if there are areas to improve the illustration style, thanks?...

This is something I made in my free time.

I'm not planning on going to art school or anything like that, but I still like drawing and designing, so I'm planning on doing it as a side thing....
