Hmmm... I don't ever get native Corel files.

      Something affordable? No.

I can import cdr files into Signlab but doubt you got that one.
I think, but am not positive, that Scanvec's Enrout and Flexisign will import them too.
      And maybe Vectorworks and Autocad.
      That's alot of maybes...
And all of them VERY expensive.

The best bet is to call whoever supplied the files and ask them to export as eps and resend.

actually corel hates eps-either in importing or exporting. your best bet, if you need to work with the images, would probably be to have the person export them as a photoshop documet, or even publish the document to a pdf.

I think that corel has an option of saving files as 'ai' format, which can be opened in illustrator. Another option might be if you save the files as 'dwg' format I know illustrator will open that format as well.

              >>actually corel hates eps-either in importing or exporting.<<

Where on earth did you get that idea? CDraw has probably the widest range of import/export options available in any software.

The best solution to the original question would be to ask the person who supplied the Corel files to export as an EPS.

any eps i have ever imported into corel has had terrible resolution and never worked well, that is where i got that idea from. if you have better suggestions, by all means, put them out there. my experience has taught me the total opposite.

The original question was does anything ELSE open native Corel files.

If Corel vector files are exported as eps they open in Illustrator (with some desktop time to fix - usually minimal and not charged).

Don't export vector files as Photoshop unless you are VERY certain of your final image size and resolution.

I don't know Corel, but if it is anything like Illustrator, the onscreen preview of a RASTER eps will look like crap (and maybe even a placed vector eps). They should print ok to a postscript type printer or one with a rip in place.

                  Keyare, jump in anytime, man.

Yum. I do love salmon sandwiches. The bakery near me do great smoked salmon bagels. It's not a bagel shop so they don't jack up the prices.
