  • Wacom Intuos 2 (academic version)

    #1
Anyone know the difference between the regular and academic version of Wacom Intuos 2? Mainly, does the license for the academic version disallow commercial use of the Intuos tablet? Same question for the bundled software.

Depends on how you got it and if you register it.

You need to read the fine print. It's gotta be somewhere in the catalog or on the website.
The low priced software license is for students (non commercial use only), faculty and administrators.
Usually once you pay for a full-priced upgrade you are considered commercially licensed.
It can vary depending on the software manufacturer.
    But find the fine print.
    Or call.
    Students do graduate...eventually.

As for the academic versions themselves, they are usually fully functional packages unless otherwise stated.
    (I can't believe I just wrote that...LOL)

Thanks for the reply. I am a student now, so I would be eligible for the discount. I've searched a few websites via resellerrating.com but didn't find anything regarding commercial use for the academic version. One website has the Intuos2 9x12 Platinum selling for $269 (full version), which is over $100 less than everyone else. I'm a bit suspicious.

www.academicsuperstore.com has it for $399 but has a price guarantee.
If you can find a legitimate lower price, they say they will match it.
I know people who have used them to buy software and they are ok.
Hardware is a tough one. If you take care of it, it doesn't get upgraded.
If you are really concerned about the license you should call their pre-purchase support.

Vintage is a very broad term. Vintage could = Victorian or it could mean1970's. I hope that you and your client narrowed nailed down the vintage era they are looking for.

Yum. I do love salmon sandwiches. The bakery near me do great smoked salmon bagels. It's not a bagel shop so they don't jack up the prices.

Today I had leftovers. Chorizo and...
