    Okay, I'm out of ideas for this problem.

    At the motorsports company I work for, I came up with the idea of placing a metal decal that would affix to the cylinder with the company logo. It would be approximately 2" x 2" and would have to be flexible enough to bend around the curve of a motorcycle cylinder. It would also have to be able to endure temperatures of up to 300 degrees. The printed area would be black and red only (company colors).

    I've Googled this quite a few times, called some decal companies in the area and have gotten nowhere.

    Do any of you have any experience in this area? I think it would be a really cool idea if I can implement it the way I'm imagining.

      No, the actual engine cylinder. It would go on the side of the cylinder showing that the company did work to the innards of the engine.

        ok Have you ever seen a sticker on that hot a part? What adhesive would stand up to that?

              As far as metal I would use an aluminum it is easier to bend and will hold its shape once it is bent. Metals like brass or steel will be harder to bend and will want to spring back after you do the bending. I would contact companies that make inks for printing and silk screening to see if there are inks that will stand up to the temperature. Another option may be having the plates engraved using the process of deep cutting and adding color to the recessed area, this will work but will most likely be more expensive.

                No, the bend will not be the same. It would have to be thin enough to bend by hand when applying (aluminum would probably be best for that).

                I'm not sure how other motorcycle companies do it. I know a lot of what they use on silencers and whatnot is simply riveted into place.

                  I can't see being able to really pull off a peel and stick application, least not one that will have the umph that a motorsport company must have. The heat and the vibration would totally make this a super glue application. Can you imaging it falling off, wimpy sticker? Oh the marketing nightmare.

                    i've seen a lot of hot rod bikes & i've never seen a sticker used this way. the closest thing i've seen to this is when a shop rebuilds, ports or what ever they engrave there logo on the rockerbox.

                      This is the ATV industry and is more race-oriented in nature.

                        On their engines?
                        An Edelbrock sticker on a side panel or my toolbox sure , but the value cover is Edelbrock stamp embossed. You'll never see me putting a sticker on my powerplant. Just something else I don't need catching fire. AND racers LOVE their NEW ROCKETPIG TEES!!!!!

                          The sticker is going to be very small and simple. Just an icon showing who did the work.

                          And I've found a company that can do it. It will look pretty cool when finished.

                          And people hate Rocketpig tees. Even me.

                              sticker on the cylinder? I think you would have major problems with that, and look kind of cheesy on a nice bike, why do some nice line work and look into getting it done by a router or machinist, a nice metal or aluminum piece
