Help! How can I send AI illustrations for quark, and then printers with 2 Pantones w/o vector?

"I loose my PMS colors and remaking them in PS looks not so good"

Hi , im no expert on prepress but i had an experience before on a logo that had 2 pms colors,theres no need to recreate the colors , you can use any color but you had to tell the printing company which color would represent the actual pms .

Problem here is that unless you properly setup spot channels in Photoshop, it will require more time to properly print your job in 2 color spot. They will have to spend time making the seperations from CMYK. Normally its not hard but some places can charge you for it. Vector artwork would be better to send but not if you have copyright concerns. Vector is easier to output into a spot color job though. Its generally easier to trap and register.

Also, PDF saves vector information so you arent protecting yourself there.
