        lol

I will answer cuz it’s good to know anyways :P

Specify colors. It’s common for places that do 4 color BC’s to handle double sided cards. 4/0 = 4 color front/nothing on back. 4/1 is 4 color front/1 color back. 4/4 is 4 color front/4 color back. There are other variations as well like 5 color and 6 color which is 4 color CMYK + spots. Those spots can be a specific PMS color, metallic, spot varnish plate, etc.

Check/specify the stock used. This is very important. 10pt (point) stock is thin. 12pt is a lot nicer and thicker. Many cheapo 4 color places may use thin stock to cut costs so be careful.

Check/specify lpi/dpi of cards. Big difference between a 100 line print and 300 line.

        Create your page size, usually 2 x 3.5” (there are others too like 4 x 3.5” bi-folds and 6 x 3.5” tri-folds.

Add bleed, usually 1/8” on all outside edges, also 1/8” type safety on the inside. This means your final art should be 2.25 x 3.75” and they will trim it down to 2 x 3.5”. (check the printer for their spec requirements)

Send a complete final in a compatible format. Most places like PDF, EPS, or high res TIFF (usually 300dpi is acceptable, check with your printer). Also make sure the job is in CMYK color values and fonts are included or outlined for final.

        did i forget anything?

When talking about bleeds, I understand the 1/8' blah blah blah, but some printers always ask about a FULL BLEED? What specifically are they talking about?

I always assumed that full bleed refers to the fact that all four edges bleed, as opposed to a partial bleed (where only 1, 2, or 3 edges bleed).

BTW 4 sides that makes sense... what would be the purpose of having LESS than four sides?

It simply depends on your design.
if you had something like business cards with a line or a photo
that bled off only one or two sides, you could arrange them so
that you wouldn't have to trim as much. A kisscut instead of a
double trim on a 4-up layout saves 4 cuts and a bit of stock.
