  • Infiniti YF-6250SL - Printing on translucent/backlit media??

    #1
Im trying to find someone else that has one of these machines.

I currently use one on a daily basis at work and we are having major issues printing to a translucent or backlit media. The supplier of this machine told us that it was possible when the machine was purchased but have been unable to profile the machine to print on either of these medias, and a rep for another company has told me that she has checked with european clients of hers and NONE of them were able to get the Infiniti to print on ANY translucent media.... So im curious to see if anyone anywhere in the world is capable of this task?

    Thanking you in advance

    Regards

I don't use one of these machines but are you talking about the coated plastic material or the vinyl backlit material? Have you talked to the material manufacturer?

PD is a grande format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

We have spoken to our 3M representitive and they were unable to help us and said that they were unable to get a profile working for a vinyl backlit material anywhere they tried (Australia & Europe) for the Infiniti 6250SL

How did you create this shape?

You are right, it looks like there are loads of unnecessary shapes on this file. Are some shapes made from expanding strokes? It maybe a case...

You can try Object > Path > Simplify, but that may not be able to get you down to a reasonable number without altering your image. It looks like you have a ton of separate objects on there. Try...

I prefer landscape. Are you binding on the left side or at the top?

While I prefer landscape, I prefer left handed binding. I find turning upwards cumbersome.

Thanks, those examples are very helpful. I was thinking the auto trace likeness also. I will try cleaning it up and giving more hair shape. I was wondering if anybody uses plugin for illustrator to help...

Isn't that what a portfolio, online or physical is for?

And just like that heh, "My ideas cost money!"?

So I been working on logo illustration, and coming to closure I realized this has wayyyyyyy to many anchor points. It has over 617,000 anchor points and the file size is huge. The AI file size is 9.6...

Sorry, I meant use the space they're in now, just to better effect. I like the actual layout of the poster; it's just not conveying the right mood yet.
