I stumbled upon some interesting information about a new site called Designorati. It is brand new, so there isn't a ton of stuff but it looks like something we should keep our eye on.

It is broken down into some good categories:

Cartography, Creative Culture, Desktop Publishing, Graphic Design, Illustration, In-House, Strategy, Typography, Web Design and 360 Blog.

I find the desktop publishing section especially interesting and will be following that one. I think this is going to build into a good resource.

    Too many ads.
Who sponsors it? I couldn't tell thru all the trash.

Designorati evolved out of the Yahoo Group "Graphic Design Resource Group" (that I have been involved in for some time) with a group of people that are involved in a variety of forums, blogs, groups and web sites related to design. It's a great group of people - and they are just getting things going.

                Hi

The site isn't officially launched yet, but it is online to get some first impressions and test a few things. I just thought I'd let you guys know.

                      Hi!

Thanks to both Only Seen here and Neuro for the warm welcome. I registered here when the forum was different I believe, but I never had the time to come around.

Yesterday I decided to actually come and visit here often and what do I find? A thread about Designorati.

So, yes, I will hang around, I am sure I'll get a lot of good info here.

P.S.: I am glad to see the feedback

In regards to style I think it looks...well messy. It reminds me of something you would get doing autotrace. Strange shapes curves etc. I personally would like more hair like shapes. Nice smooth tapering...

I still say go for the screwpost book. It may seem expensive, but its flexibility outweighs the extra cost, IMO. If it's out of date in 6 months, you can spend $2.60 per page to add to it or to replace...

From what I understand, this version of vBulletin will work much better on a mobile device on its own without needing Tapatalk. I haven't tried this myself, but that's the rumor I hear.
