Great article Jeff, seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show logo made me laugh. My friends and I used to go to that show at the midnight movies when we were teenagers.

Contact the marketing or development director of local theatre companies and offer your services. Usually the smaller production companies need the most help. They may not have huge budgets but can offer tickets to their shows as partial compensation. Then "use and abuse" those projects in marketing your work to other larger companies who do often have larger marketing/promotion budgets.
Is that Comic Sans I see in one of the logos? "Tell momma Goodbye". . .
