  • Blogs and Newsites for Graphic Design

I'm looking for the blogs and news sites/articles that others visit for new GD related information. Where do you go to get your news? Is there a specific designer you follow because they have an interesting and engaging blog?

You can join Graphic Design related groups on Linkedin or follow companies like Adobe on Linkedin.

      I just read trade mags.
But I haven't seen anything new and interesting in a while. Always the same old re-inventing the wheel.
I read an article the other day about a guy doing an outside metal sign using banner hemming tape to hold the metal faces on the metal letters...
Yeah, I'd like to see a follow up article in about 6-8 months. That's about how long that tape lasts on banners.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like a good idea at all....

I wouldn't say that I ''follow'' anyone in particular, but I sometimes take a meander through some of these

Sketching not only helps you work out good ideas, it helps you get past the bad ones.

Yeah, same here. I guess that's what happens as trends come, go, come again, change a bit, recycle, get rediscovered and, in general, stay the same. I can't decide whether it's a curse or a blessing to have been in this business long enough to have that kind of perspective. I will say, though, that technology changes fast enough to still keep things both frustrating and interesting.

These are good suggestions -- a few are new to me. I also like these:

Hi Sonaicachay2 and welcome to GDF.

Start on the main forums page and choose a sub-forum that you want to post in. If you're not sure, just choose general. Once you click the name of the sub-forum, on the next page you see there should be a button on the left side, part way down that reads, "+ New Topic." Click that to start a new one.

You want a program that is used to dealing with vector axis data. Photoshop would probably be inappropriate.
