You know... I've seen things listed as creative commons that shouldn't be...if you get my drift.
And there are different flavors of Creative commons. From fairly restrictive to fully open. Be sure of your source.

    Thanks! Very Helpful

The copyright and plagiarism laws can get sticky. Good thing we have Creative Commons.

I think they got Steamboat Willie covered again when the 95 years after the death of the Creator was installed. We may have a few more years to go on that one.

Is it time for Steamboat Willie's copyright to lapse again already? Where does the time go?

According to INFOdocket, today is Public Domain Day.

They marked it by posting a list of resources for researching copyright & public domain issues.

Thanks for posting these links. I wanted to learn more about copyrighting, but I've been too busy with homework to read much about it lately. I'll bookmark this post.

You have to walk the fine line of Editorial Comment on that. Fair Use for editorial content can be claimed in some cases. Blogs are a very gray area. If you are posting it just for inspirational purposes, that isn't exactly editorial. A review on the other hand might be, but then your expertise in the matter or your purpose for doing so could come into question.
