  • Looking for 3 x 3 magnets

    #1
Have a job we're printing for a client

    5 x 7 postcard 4/4

    10,000

They want us also to print up a 3 x 3 magnet / die cut involved and glue to the postcard to be mailed ?

Anyone have a magnet source ? We were ASI, but have since cancelled our account.

Moved from Classifieds since this isn't a job offer.

Can you mail a post card with a magnet glued to it?

Honestly, I doubt it. The postcard has to be thin enough to go through the machinery, plus a magnet may make it 'stick' to the machine since I'm guessing parts of it are metal. Dealing with that kind of mess would probably make a few postal workers go... well... postal.

Yeah you definetley can not send a mag glued to a pcard thru the mail... that will make the postal employees go postal, not to mention the person who paid for the postage, LOL You can send mags thru the mail if they are in an envelope tho.

For an item to go thru the mail as a postcard (regardless of the amount of postage) it must be a single piece item. if something is attached to it, it must be 'permanently' attached. In other words, it can be hand processed, but if the item could possibly come off before or after it is processed, you'll get it back, and won't be delivered.

Your best bet is to either find a different way to mail it, or a different way to attach it.

Clients pay you to come up with ideas. They can select a designer based on their portfolio. That's what a portfolio is for. But shopping around for custom work and paying only if they use it is wrong....

The one I'm working on now is landscape.

The job I have now, I was told over 400 people had applied for it. There's a ton of competition out there. If you're passionate about it and never stop studying it, you can be good. Best way to get ahead...

Oh yes, left-hand binding. I'd never do it along the top. Awkward.

A flexible set-up for your portfolio will be more efficient in the long-term IMO. You will be able to customize your portfolio pieces to the sector for which you are applying.

              FWIW, $140...

I would say landscape portfolios are pretty common. +1 for binding on the left-hand versus the top.

Demand? No. The market is over-saturated. Just curious, what is it about Graphic Design that interests you? Why do you think you want to pursue it?
