Select the white shape and the black shape behind it, then click the Minus Front button in the Pathfinder panel to "subtract" the white shape from the black shape.

I find it quite hilarious that, of the people I know, the graphic designers are the ones that manipulate their pictures the least.

I've been a long time Illustrator user, you can say my level is intermediate. There's one thing that I come across in AI now and again and when I do I just manage around it, even though that can be time...

  • Free Online Design Tool - Laying Images onto Photographs??

    hi there,

i am trying to locate any free online software that will allow me to place images onto existing photographs in a professional manner.

For example - to apply simple visuals of branding to the photograph of the inside of a shop to visually demonstrate how some point of sale, branding collateral may look.

I am not a designer but would be capable of creating these visuals if I could get my hands on the right software.

I have tried using paint and as you can imagine the results are poor.

    Thanks a million...

    Regards,
    Rob

        a. asking what software to use to do this, and
        b. if they are offering 'professional' services without this knowledge...
