  • Books on the Printing Process.

    He guys.

I'm looking for some books that'd be a good resource for teaching me a bit more about the printing process. I know enough to keep me employed as a designer, but I want to build my repertoire. I want to be able to understand more of what our printers do and what they go through when he get a finished order back.

"What sort of process" you might say. Well, I managed to find a book about plate lithography from the local library, so I guess I'm wanting to brush up about the more common processes used. I'm also always interested to read about the origins (no matter what the subject).

Anyone know of any good books they could recommend?

So did they ask you to adjust their logo or not? If not, you'll just have to live with it. If they have, then it's your job as the designer to understand what typeface to use to communicate something....

Oh dear, did you get my old job?

I have dealt with exactly what you're going through. On a regular basis, I would have to provide 6-7 versions of a design with different shades of green or...

OP, I agree with the advice about getting an internship somewhere. You might also want to try looking for part time jobs in print shops. Even if you're not doing graphic design you'll probably learn a...
