  • Need Suggestions For A 'Racing' Logo

    #1

    Hiya,

New here .. nice to meet you.

I'm working on this logo for my husband's website and also for printing on t-shirts, etc.

I need suggestions and opinions on the lay-out of all the pieces. Do you think the flag would look good in a certain position? I want to bring the "D" and "Z" and also the "4" together somehow ... since it's not only the number of the car, it represents a family of racers, father and 3 sons.

What about the fonts? I have only so many to choose from. Colors? We need the pink. How about the placement of 'Art-A-Fab' .. that's a business the family has .. building race cars. My husband wants it on there .. do you think it's confusing, is there a better way of placing it? And finally, what do you think of the 'checkerboard' outline of the oval?

OK .. throw all your suggestions, comments and crituques out there!

    Thanks a bunch!
    Dee

PS: Just throwing out an updated version ...

Well this is just my opinion, but I would like to see 2 flags, both pointing outward at a 45degree angle, and have your logo on top of that. You should also consider tightening the spaces between your text, and applying a pretty heavy stroke so that it stands out against the flagged background. I hope thats a clear enough description. thats my only idea for the weekend : )

Could you play around with the letters D, Z and 4 a bit more? Try writing them on a piece of paper in as many ways as you can. For example, the number 4 could be seen as made up of 4 straight lines. Just an idea.

I actually ended up going with RichCopy. It's free, only overwrites files that have been changed since last backup (quicker backups,) and doesn't compress or pack the files. My brother who is an IT tech...

Yep, I had a look at this forum on an iPad this morning and looked pretty good. Doesn't work with Tapatalk, but maybe we don't need it to.

Actually, not so bad for a beginner. The thing is, it's not only a matter of doing it "correctly;" it's one of those things that simply takes practice. It's no different than when you were new...

          I use Cobain Backup http://www.cobiansoft.com/index.htm

It's real easy to use and doesn't change your files in any way.

Aww, we had a bunny when I was a kid. I loved to trans it out by rubbing between its ears. We also had another rabbit. That rabbit was a bit more formidable. He chased horses....

Hi Weasel Puppy! We sometimes call our rabbit "Chubby Weasel".
