I am realizing how hard it is design something for myself, I make nice flyers for my clients but when it comes to my own work, I get a brain freeze..any suggestions
start with your text. if it's not 100% readable, you're wasting your time and money. don't make something important transparent - defeats the purpose.
if you want to display a photograph, choose your best one and then decide how it should be laid out - the whole flyer or perhaps you 'box it in' somehow...
keep it simple. i have a feeling that you're trying to put SUPERzing into the flyer without being 100% sure what you want it to look like.
much better...do you have a non-model shot. Like a nature shot or something. i'm only saying this cause if this is an eFlyer you don't want people to think it is spam.
And while your changing stuff, you always wanna make sure that your contact info is one of the main focuses, you want people to be able to get a hold of you easily. Im not saying go over the top, but definetly make it extremely legible. Looking good though on the second one.
RJ, instead of outlining your fonts to make them stand out from a multicolored background. Try duplicating your text layer and just shifting the bottom layer a bit to the side and down. Make the top layer white and the bottom black or viseversa. It will highlight it without the distortion you get with outlines.
'I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.' Abraham Simpson
And another suggestion, if its photography that you want to show off, I think you should find some better images then the girl, don't get me wrong shes nice, but it doesn't scream photography...well maybe studio photography, but thats it. Hope that helps.
Vintage is a very broad term. Vintage could = Victorian or it could mean1970's. I hope that you and your client narrowed nailed down the vintage era they are looking for.
