I was requested on another car forum to do a tire/wheel tutorial and I thought I'd share it here as well. I know most of you may find this elementary, but there may be a few peeps who might benefit and if I can help 'em out, then it's all good.
So...I've done a quick lil 'tutorial' on how I illustrate my tires/wheels in Adobe Illustrator 10. This particular wheel/tire doesn't have quite as much detail in it, but it'll give you the general idea. My process is actually very simple.
So follow along step by step and keep in mind that you can adjust the diameters to achieve whatever sizes and styles you want. Also, follow photos to replicate styles more accurately. With simple searches on google you can find straight-on views of many styles of wheels or simply create your own.
Here are also a few samples of other tires/wheels that can be
achieved using these basic principles...
Dragster tires, low-profile sport wheels, etc...

And the tutorial...

Hope some of you find it helpful. As I said, my process is really very simple...just some basic shapes and fills.
Good luck and have fun!
