  • critique and suggestions on poster design please!

    #1
I did this poster for my photography AS exam, we didnt have to finish the final design in the time given it was more important to show research and development that is why its not finished. I need to add font and prehaps improve it.

Brief: My aim was to produce 4 posters expressing moods relating to alzheimer's but in a photo manipulation style if that is the right term hmm. This particular one focuses on anger, i found when i photographed my freind the photo quility wasnt that great especially the background e.g it wasnt lit that well but i tried. I ended up having to cut him out. Anyway i wont go on please critisize and suggest away thanks

Have you ever known anyone with alzheimers?

As far as photo manipulation, I guess it could do. I don't get the alzheimers part, though. I took care of an alzheimers patient for 3 years. They aren't all angry and their heads aren't filled with garbage. I think to portray anything having to do with alzheimers, you'd really need an older person. That's why lots of people call it "old-timers" disease!

Yeah… I'm not seeing the connection either. My grandmother died from the disease and your imagery doesn't portray the symptoms or behavior very well. The imagery looks like someone who is in pain because their head has been sliced open…

Thanks, fair points im sorry if it offends you well in the beginning was gonna do just diffrent moods like anger, sadness etc. My teacher said i should look at alhziemers because the project was erosion and i was looking at human erosion. The bin on his head is ment to represent that everyone is telling him so many diffrent things or angering him, throwing all their emotional rubbish at him. Thanks for your time prehaps this design should go in the rubbish bin

Agreed with above comments. Keeping thinking erosion...you could do some more literal stuff with that would have more impact.

i get where your coming from there, would have been nice to look at aging prehaps as a form of erosion.

Reminds me more of an angry bi-polar... as for the 'chop, the bottle and apple look way off with color/contrast/lighting, other than that it's not too bad though

My wife is a Social Worker with a minor in Gerontology. The imagery in this doesn't make me think Alzheimers or the type of anger that is associated with it. Nothing against the execution... concept is very muddy though.

We don't require a signature. The client can confirm a file to print or advise of corrections any way they see fit. A simple email reply of "Ok to print" is sufficient.
