    The idea was to communicate the passing of the last of the Nine Old Men, Ollie Johnston, through the use of the numbers of 2008 with minimal extra illustration. Looking at the designs, do they communicate that to you? What do you think could be implemented or changed to get the idea across more effectively? I apologize for the rough quality and also thank you for taking the time to look!

      Where this is an exercise rather than a real world piece, the ideas are headed in the right direction. On the top one, make the 8 as clear as it is on the bottom Mickey.

      The bottom Mickey kinda reminds me of the editorial cartoon published when Mel Blanc died of all the cartoon characters he voiced with their heads bowed and the caption was "Speachless". Maybe move that one along and get a little more Mickey looking. Though I doubt you would be the only one in class to come up with that.

      Do some more sketching, try to think a little more outside the box...
