When I think of Adrian Frutiger, I think of, well, Frutiger, which is sort of a humanist grotesk, maybe. Then I think of Myriad Pro. Of course Frutiger didn't design Myriad, but Myriad is pretty much...

I understand what you are trying to achieve (and I have seen some other good examples in a similar style) but to me it doesn't read as 'EFM'. It seems incomplete. Needs more work. Or a different appr...

There is no recognition of your initials without knowing what they are. Nicely executed but conception is weak. Try another avenue.

  • New Web Design Business Name / Logo?

    Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of starting a webdesign business. I have come up with the name procreate but I want some opinions on this name (foremost) and the logo.
My girlfriend doesn't think much of it because of its sexual context. I take it as "pro" and "create". What does everyone think?
I might have to add something like media or interactive onto it to be a little less vague as to what service I am offering.
I enjoy the humour in it and I am just wondering if it has potential, Thanks!

No offense, I don't like it either. But still, as a name it could work. I'd split it up like you said, Pro and Create.
As far as the logos go, the bunny in the first one looks like it has piles, the second one,
    jump on it?
, that's not really all that sfw and the third one, Hef may have a word or two to say about it. Sorry.

that first one looks like a cross between a bunny and a frog. You ARE going for a sexual content if you stick bunnies on it and suggest they have a lot of sex. (which they don't.. I still don't get that joke).

If you want the name to mean Pro and Create, then separate them somehow in your logo. Either with space, colour (shade) etc.

Personally I would add media, web design, interactive or something..

i love it!...rofl...'procreate' with bunnies and the tagline 'jump on it'...that there is the perfect branding for a fertility drug or clinic, or an ovulation detector...i see great humor in it!

kidding aside...even if you separate the words, i don't think people will take you seriously if combined with this imagery...

It's not so much that bunnys have lots of sex. They sure do have lots of little bunnys though when they do.

FWIW, the name Procreate isn't new. It was a software company (made Painter, now owned by Corel I believe). Not sure if you want to start a business by sharing its name with a defunct company.

I agree with everyone above... you should seperate the words so that they are not taken together as one if that is your reasoning. And yes the bunnies in general are too playboy. Perhaps try something without bunnies... and I think media or some word to illustrate design is important.

I think others may have already picked up on this and it also might be that you have done this on purpose and im just telling you what you know, but the name "ProCreate" is that meaning something along the lines of Professional Creations, as the actual word "procreate" means (how can i put this best!) 'to produce offspring' which then having the bunny as the logo implies the latter. Im pretty sure that you are aware of this and that it why you have done it, but just incase you had done it by coincidence!!!!!

Just as an addendum to my earlier post, here is the logo of that now defunct company:

Procreate says reproduction to me not webdesign, if you are set on teh name, like teh others say probably make sure they look like seperate words. I think judging by Virgo's findings it's sadly back to the drawing board though design wise.

I"m gonna guess Corel still owns the rights to the name and the rabbit mark. You'd best research that before going any further. A trademark attorney can do that for you for a fee.
