  • I need a debug - have at it - review

This isn't necessarily a crit. There's a whole list already of things to do and change on this website both visibly and functionally (misspellings, better layout on a few pages,etc.). We have some that say that they can't save, and others say that it is perfectly fine. I think we need a broader spectrum of people to test with. So I do have permission to post it here.

The main thing we need to determine is if the designing tool is functional enough to launch the site.

So what I really need you to do is run through the entire process from choosing a product to designing it, saving it and editing the design later.

    So the questions are:

    1) With no instructions (who reads those anyway?) can you get it done?

    2) Can you save your design?

    3) Can you edit the design from your accounts profile once it is saved?

    4) Name the top things that you feel need the most work.

This link does have an affiliate tracking attached to it so we can test that functionality as well.

If something does go wonky, screen captures welcome.

Saving is sketchy. It does not work for the "Design on a product" and is buggy on the "Start with a blank page"

Cancel is spelled wrong on the create a new item popup.

I can only keep one saved design on each the design a product and blank page. If I create and save a new one it oversaves a previous design.

I could not get a custom picture to upload (my avatar) It just kept spinning

    I started off simple

saved it and reopened it. Notice the background color shift and how it shrunk.

Tried it with curved type - which needs to be tweaked. Tracking/Kerning is terrible (some fonts are better than others) and spaces leave way too much of a gap.

    saved it and reopened it.

    Then I got fancy.

saved and reopened it ... Lost it all

Some advice is profound, some is clever. The above post is a good example of both.

      Thank you MD!

So you ended up on that other side of the fence. I have a feeling more are going to join you.

They're different tools used for very different purposes. This is an overly broad generalization, but the brush tool is more of a freehand sketching tool. The pen tool is for, well, most everything e...
