I'm on CS6 (not cloud) at work and I can still open old Pagemaker files. They aren't pretty, but it works.

You will be able to open all your CS2 files. Just be wary.

You might have trouble going from Illustrator CS2 to CS6. If you have any clipping paths in images placed in Illustrator that aren't...

I would look out for changes in text flow, effects being dropped, things like rounded corners going screwy when opening in CS6, the largest jump I've done is an indd created in CS3 opened with CS6. Plus...

In theory it should still work; however I might recommend double checking with Adobe just to be save.

  • I need a debug - have at it - review

This isn't necessarily a crit. There's a whole list already of things to do and change on this website both visibly and functionally (misspellings, better layout on a few pages,etc.). We have some that say that they can't save, and others say that it is perfectly fine. I think we need a broader spectrum of people to test with. So I do have permission to post it here.

The main thing we need to determine is if the designing tool is functional enough to launch the site.

So what I really need you to do is run through the entire process from choosing a product to designing it, saving it and editing the design later.

    So the questions are:

    1) With no instructions (who reads those anyway?) can you get it done?

    2) Can you save your design?

    3) Can you edit the design from your accounts profile once it is saved?

    4) Name the top things that you feel need the most work.

This link does have an affiliate tracking attached to it so we can test that functionality as well.

If something does go wonky, screen captures welcome.

    Safari OSX 10.5.8

Saving is sketchy. It does not work for the "Design on a product" and is buggy on the "Start with a blank page"

Cancel is spelled wrong on the create a new item popup.

I can only keep one saved design on each the design a product and blank page. If I create and save a new one it oversaves a previous design.

I could not get a custom picture to upload (my avatar) It just kept spinning

    I started off simple

saved it and reopened it. Notice the background color shift and how it shrunk.

Tried it with curved type - which needs to be tweaked. Tracking/Kerning is terrible (some fonts are better than others) and spaces leave way too much of a gap.

    saved it and reopened it.

    Then I got fancy.

saved and reopened it ... Lost it all

Some advice is profound, some is clever. The above post is a good example of both.

      Thank you MD!

So you ended up on that other side of the fence. I have a feeling more are going to join you.
