It's slightly disingenuous to claim you designed the grid and the type, as you tell us on the link, when really you've taken them wholesale from the original.

I did a project like this in college too, and i always felt that if you're not really trying to add to the original piece, or putting your own spin on it, you're failing - it's just a pastiche. In copying Crouwel's original so closely you're in danger of not understanding his reasoning but blindly following. So his is bold and demanding, whereas yours is OK, nicely done even, but doesn't command the same attention, with its standard layout. It needs more balls.

Did you think why is his so close to the edge, the letterforms chunkier, bigger, with more leading. With such a simplistic design each element must be considered precisely. Then again i think the yellow at the bottom completely alters the design; it's an element too far, and draws the eye down. Without it it's much, much better. Is it mandatory in V&A posters? With it being the same yellow as the type it clashes a bit.

And your yellow strip at the bottom doesn't run flush with the grey on the left, but maybe that's an annoying glitch that isn't in your original. Did you use a clipping mask?

Your text doesn't actually use the grid which sort of defeats the point of the grid. If you look at the original, the grid is used to construct the text. Something to think about.

Nice observation.

The V&A and yellow bar is really dominant on the poster. It draws the attention away from the important information that you want people to see.

Don't bother.

By rounding all the terminals and completely eliminating the dot above the i, etc, your - interpretation - misleads to far from the original. And, your graphic doesn't take the viewer to anyplace fresh use of the grid.

In your next version you should intro some humor/education by having V&A contain in old school architectural guidelines. You know the ones? The ones used to construct serif letter shapes.
