  • Website Feedback

Hello, I have been working on this website off and on for awhile now. I feel I am almost done with it but it seems like its missing something. Please any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The site is running on Drupal.

Sorry I have not proof read through what i've written any text on the site was just written and filled in as ideas to go back in later and complete. My grammer is awful too and spelling :-(. I'll go back in in a little bit and fix those errors you pointed out.

But all spelling and grammer aside what about the design?

I quite like the design. Clear and easy to navigate.

Not sure about using the Drupal logo as the favicon though? Perhaps doing something with the main apple on the front page would be better?

thank you, yeah I haven't gotten around to adding the fav icon yet but once I get all the grammer and spelling errors I'll add it.

I think your text needs more contrast. Dark gray against dark gray isn't really that easy to read.

The portfolio section needs a lot of improvement.

The thumbnails just flat out don't represent the sites very well. I'd rather see a blurry screenshot of an entire page than a zoomed in portion of the bottom right of it. Your logos look bright and interesting but you excluded them from the thumbnail.

I'd also rather have the thumbnails start out bright and dim when you hover over them. Starting them out dim (like you have it) makes them look really drab and uninviting.

On the website pages: I don't think the little stereo knobs down on the bottom right of the images work that well. They're hard to click and hard to understand until the animation starts playing. I'd rather see numbers on those (1,2,3) with a label like "More Screenshots", or Next/Previous buttons.

The big apple header thing is OK for the homepage, but having it on every page is an inconvenience. It just gets in the way and you have to scroll too much to see what you want. On lower resolutions (netbooks are 600px high) it will be hard to see that the page has changed.

I have exported from InDesign as well, but that's not the problem, some of the sites I was applying from ask for CV's less than 500KB, 2 MB would be fine if that were the case.

PrintDriver Thanks for your response. Yeah the highlight on her contours is what I'm most unhappy with and will probably be adjusting this in new versions. I didn't think of the texture being looked at...

Why does it have to be converted to PDF from word? you can get much more reasonable PDF file sizes when exporting from inDesign. Most of those max file size limits are 2mb, you should be able create a...

It's really helpful to know you have been on both sides i.e applying as well as hiring, so I will stick to your advice about keeping it plain. Thanks.

It looks like it's supposed to be a spot glass coating on a matte card. No great way to simulate that in InDesign. Best way to make it happen is call the printer that is printing it and ask them, but...
