I have created a logo for a friend who designs & sells high polygon count 3D models. I would love some constructive feedback to help with the design process. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, a pentagon is considered a n-gon in 3Dmodeling, which are supposed to be avoided. Everything should be made out of quads and tris. I could be wrong about this though, check with your friend.
And if he sells high poly models I don't know if it's such a good idea to represent that with a 5 sided O. Seems low poly to me.
Thanks Leyral! I appreciate the critique. My friend likes the overall look but I'll ask him about using quads & tris. Maybe a six sided polygon would be more appropriate. I think if I increase the number of sides to a higher count (say 15) that the shape will start to resemble a circle & will start to move away from the idea of replacing the O with a polygon shape. I'll try increasing the count some & see how it looks. Thanks again.
double A-ron I agree. I widened the white space some & may need to widen some more. I also rotated the colors so that the warm colors are on the left side & the cool colors are on the right.
Cosmo, I have included a copy in gray scale as Well. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Grayscale is not one color. All black is one color.
Cosmo, thanks for the feedback. Yes I understand the concept of one color; however my goal all along has been to make the polygon shape stand out from the rest of the text. I understand that while the shape itself is obviously different than the letters, I wanted to have its color differ as well in order to provide additional emphasis. I think that when the logo is reduced in size to say business card proportions that the polygon shape would begin to lose its effect on the rest of the logo if it was all one color. This is just a personal preference in this case. I checked out your Website & think you’ve got some cool work so I appreciate your critique. That said, what are your thoughts on the grayscale version? Thanks.
If you're counting on color in order for your logo to retain its effectiveness, how effective is it really then? Granted nearly everything is full color these days, you may still encounter a situation where having 7 colors can present a costly production issue. Embroidered baseball hats or polo shirts? Color matching for a large format piece? Silk screened promo items?
Have you explored any other concepts that will not rely on color? Something that will be just as effective in pure black and white (NO gray)?

A truly good logo should be able to stand alone in 1-color and be just as impactful as it is in color. Use the 'elements' to make it stand out and don't rely on color. Why? Because you will not always be able to use more than 1-color.
Say for example, the customer wants this etched/engraved on ink pens. There won't be an opportunity to use ink, so the logo needs to stand strong in just 1 color.
As for your logo...I know nothing about 3D modeling, but I like the lettering and the hexagon looks good with it, especially with the larger white spaces between them. The line weights look consistent between the lines in the shape and the letters themselves which is a good thing. The icon is not overpowering, but it's the one element that is different and draws the eye to it.
Overall, very nice job and I think as a completely b/w version (no grayscale), it'll stand alone pretty well. ;-)
Thanks for the insight Virgo Nightingale. Those are some great points that I hadn't considered. I'll try designing a black & white version & post when I have something to show. Thanks again!
I'd say at first glance that there is no continuity in the design in your piece. It looks like a dozen little disparate, clip-art-like designs gathered in a rectangular...
