Here is a website for an identity designer. I would appreciate any comments on the websites such as likes, dislikes and how it could be improved. Thanks very much for taking the time to do so. Thanks, Matt.

          Welcome to GDF!

Nice work! There's something screwy going on just in this one little area, though.

That is very strange. What browser is that in? Thanks for the comments regarding the work too. Blood, sweat and many tears!

Firefox whatever the latest update is... it only appeared that way in that one location. Everything else was fine.

everything looks good, but my only concern is on your process page, the slideshow of the little icons is a little distracting. it could be just me, but while i was trying to read through your process i was being distracted by the constant scrolling of the icons.

I like how there is interesting shapes created in the white space that match up with your logo. I wonder if there should be a little more contrast between the text and headers, and pull quotes/testimonials? Just a thought.

Nice stuff. Quirky thing, but your logo is skewed on your blog header, looks like the defined dimensions are wider than the image is supposed to be (or it's correct and everything else is squished).

Many thanks for checking for me. I have fixed the logo which had skewed. Firefox seems to be ok with me, which is very confusing! I will submit it for browser testing again.

When viewed on a mac your landing page slideshow is too fast and there doesn't seem to be a pause button. If your intent is to showcase 'best work' there, I'd rather not have to hunt for it in the gallery to see it again.

typo, wrong blurb for the logo:
                          "EMI Records — HIFI
Specialists in the supply and fitting of high quality bathrooms — Classic Ceramics needed a sophisticated logo to reflect their position. Foil blocked stationery was created to give a luxurious feel with added value."

Looks very good in general, I'd personally suggest to not bash the competition though, if they're at your site they probably aren't into a crowd sourced logo. It gives a petty quality to your text. Are you the only person in this company or are there others?

(Keep in mind a whole lot of companies are perfectly happy with el cheapo logos, and there's not a whole lot we can do about it.)

I like your logos! The site is straight forward, easy to navigate and simple. Just an idea: Could you change the background/logo colour quickly if you felt like it? That would be a nice touch of keeping it fresh. Only thing I noticed: I think the slides are changing too quickly (at least for me who would like a few more seconds to appreciate the designs!).

I think you've chosen an incredibly difficult subject for this style of illustration, for a beginner. Something that could more easily be posterized and broken down into 3 or 4 values would be a good...

Clients pay you to come up with ideas. They can select a designer based on their portfolio. That's what a portfolio is for. But shopping around for custom work and paying only if they use it is wrong....

The job I have now, I was told over 400 people had applied for it. There's a ton of competition out there. If you're passionate about it and never stop studying it, you can be good. Best way to get ahead...

Oh yes, left-hand binding. I'd never do it along the top. Awkward.

A flexible set-up for your portfolio will be more efficient in the long-term IMO. You will be able to customize your portfolio pieces to the sector for which you are applying.

I would say landscape portfolios are pretty common. +1 for binding on the left-hand versus the top.
