  • Futura and itc and Avantgarde

    Hello everyone,

In the company where I work, we use Futura font as the institutional font.
Futura, that I love, is been the company font for ages, and now they decided to introduce the use of a further font, to be used in conjuction with Futurs. The font they just added is Avant Garde.
Now my question is, do you think than adding a font that is, from a class perspective, very similar to Futura (they are both geometric sans-serif) is a good idea? I do not think so, but I am a bit concern because talking with people they look me as I am mad, when I actually think mixing to so similar fonts (even if they are both very good) is a 'mistake'

Please, can you tell me your opinion on this?

    Many thanks

Do you mean using the two faces together in a same presentation?

I guess it all depends on the weights being used.

Usually not a good idea to do that, but it's not possible to give a firm opinion without seeing examples of the type in use.
