I am designing some t-shirts for my uncles softball team - The font I want to use is Casey.

Since this is a freebie and this is a very short run I would rather not charge him $40 for the font if I don't have to. Does anyone know of some decent knockoffs or something similar?

lol, that's the one I was thinking of... I couldn't remember the name of it!
(you'd think it would be one that you couldn't forget.)

dafont.com has alot of free fonts, and I know I've seen some fonts with swooshes on there. Mercelle is one, but it's also pre-faded. If it's just for t-shirts and not jerseys, maybe it would look cool?

I know I've seen others that are pretty close to what you're looking for, but I can't remember which they are. You'll have to spend some time looking through what they've got by category. If anything comes to mind I'll repost.

has our fame preceded us, or were we too quick for it?

sorry - futurama reference. One of my favorite episodes.

That's not a bad one either MD .. but I've been using that ballpark one for a while.. I just have to draw in the swashs by hand .. but thats not too hard to do

                        ahh, i get it now.

So I did a quick google search, and came up with this: http://www.advancedartist.com/coolstuff.html

I didn't download it, but it looks like it comes with a bunch of pre-made swoosh tails for different script fonts? Maybe it'll be helpful.

                        Here's a freebie design I did awhile back for a friend's dodgeball team. It's a thinker.

Thats a pretty cool pack DS - nice find. I was in the process of drawing a bunch of different tails - scanning and tracing in ilustrator. That pack will help me make some quick comps.

                            Thanks
