  • Another 'whats this font?' thread.

    #1
    Hi everyone,

I have been reading through the forums and I've taken the FAQ's, rules and guidelines into account - Using many different resources to try and identify the fonts I like but the results are poor and that is putting it lightly.

I must apologise for begging for someone to identify these fonts but finding fonts must be one of the most tedious and frustrating tasks for a designer in my opinion. The process of going, oh I like that font, to then figuring out what font it is... Just time consuming & terrible.

Apologises. Designers seem to ignore emails.

    Looks like Helvetica from here.

The website www.helveticbrands.ch might have been a clue.

      Thanks, clearly overlooked that.

      And the other 6?

Looks like some Bebas in there. Are you just asking because you like them or is a customer asking that you use them?
You're mainly posting from dribbble, maybe ask the original designer?

Well observed and as I stated in my original post, designers seem to ignore emails.

Seriously no one feels like identifying these for me? Please?

You can only get better with experience.

Font identification can be a tedious task, but one that designers are paid to do. You've received some help already and your request has gone cold. Maybe it's time to do your own work?

There are other font ID resources out there for you to use.

It's part and parcel of being a designer. Tedious or not, it's your job.

I did not dispute that? Also what gives you the right to be a self-righteous moron and tell me what my job is? I was of the opinion this forum is here to help and inform people. Obviously it is just full of arrogant, egotistical dinosaurs like you?

Time to be civil, please, Rich. The posters in this forum do so voluntarily, no one is required to help identify fonts or respond at all. Calling people names is not going to encourage anyone to help.

But arrogance is tolerated? Flaming or knocking someone for asking for help is why people cannot stand individuals in our industry.

How was my response arrogant? I said it was part of the designers job to deal with tedious aspects of the profession. Apparently you didn't feel the same way and decided name-calling was the appropriate response.

Perhaps being a rude and reactionary individual will get you the answers you seek.

                        Good Luck in your endeavors.

No, actually you said: Tedious or not, it's your job.

Who are you to talk to me like that?

Likewise, I'm sure someone will give you the slap you deserve some day.

                              Oh Rich, you're so funny.

What's funnier is I know what fonts they are, but because you're behaving like a spoiled child not getting his toy, I'm not going to tell you what they are.

The job I have now, I was told over 400 people had applied for it. There's a ton of competition out there. If you're passionate about it and never stop studying it, you can be good. Best way to get ahead...

Oh yes, left-hand binding. I'd never do it along the top. Awkward.

A flexible set-up for your portfolio will be more efficient in the long-term IMO. You will be able to customize your portfolio pieces to the sector for which you are applying.

I would say landscape portfolios are pretty common. +1 for binding on the left-hand versus the top.

Demand? No. The market is over-saturated. Just curious, what is it about Graphic Design that interests you? Why do you think you want to pursue it?

Used the pen tool to create strokes as the outline, then once it was time to tidy up, i converted them all into shapes. Was this a bad idea? there also is white areas for instance on the jacket, it's...

Honestly, from where I'm standing, there is no demand for more designers. This isn't to freak you out, but I think schools recruiting for your dollar may tell you otherwise.
