  • Kind of a silly question: Adult pay-sites

Hey all, kind of a funny question.

A friend of mine from high school has recently decided to make her entrance into the "Adult Entertainment" industry via a website.

Knowing that I do some web stuff, she has come to me for the site. Typically this isnt the type of site I've sought out to build, so I dont really know all of what goes into them behind the scenes.

I've made and worked on a good amount of more basic sites, but never anything that involved memberships or credit card payment, other than simple paypal stores and what not.

What I understand right now is that she is looking for a fairly simple site, going for that "amateur" look. It will include photo galleries, probably videos, and things of that nature. It will need to have the whole "members only" content going on, as well as the ability to accept payment online.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of site, or have any tips, or can point me in the right direction as to where I should look for more info?

In my head it all seems pretty complicated, but I feel like it can't be as difficult as I think it is.

    Thanks in advance...
    -Sam

Oh totally. I mean there's just GOT to be a "pictorial tutorial" somewhere out there about designing and coding for paid-membership websites, right?

Well, I've never done anything like that, but I did recently work on a site that had online payments for a conference registration, and I imagine it's the same general principal. Only, you know, with much, much less nudity.

Basically we had to set up an account with an online payment processing company. We have an HTTPS site that collects the registration info, including the credit card details. Our site then passes that info to the payment processing company, and they return confirmation when the transaction goes through.

I don't know, but there are probably companies that specialise in these services for the "Adult Entertainment Industry," as many non-specialist companies prefer to avoid that sort of business.

Also, it's true. This thread is worthless without pics

This is the internet. I'll be very surprised if there isn't.

well i think you have proper authority to "research" these sites.

once you get the site developed & need people for testing please post the site with user name/PW so we can help critique the site.

                              Has anyone ever used them?

Quite honestly I don't think anyone would really take offense to a shirt like that.
But I still don't think anyone would buy it because I'm pretty convinced ''Us vs Them'' is pretty well ingrained...
