  • Testing in multiple browsers on Vista?

    #1
On my old laptop (running XP) I had TredoSoft's "Multiple IE" hack that let me run multiple versions of IE to test in. I also had a couple other browsers so really covered most of the bases as far as browsers went. Now my new laptop is running Vista, and the previous software doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to test in multiple browsers (more specifically multiple versions of IE)...? I've seen some sites that will render your page in different versions but you'd have to run a new render each time you tweaked the CSS if there was an issue or something. Grr I hate IE.

    See if IETester will work.

Alternately Microsoft has a (massive) program called SuperPreview intended for this.

Thanks Vanish, I just downloaded that SuperPreview but as I was waiting for that to come down I found something else -- http://www.xenocode.com/browsers/ -- which seems to possibly be the most amazing thing so far! I don't have to install an overly bloated software program to accomplish some basic testing!

I use browser cross check for my web designs. You can goto the site and it has over 20 OS's and browsers that will crawl your site and take a snapshot of the page you want tested...goto google and type in browser shots.

        Good luck.

Adobe just launched a pretty (if limited in scope) cross-browser/platform tester:

Yes, yes it does. I've been running it in vista for almost a year now.
