I have some links in my header of my website that I'm trying to make more attractive by using a tiny gif file that adds visual affect. This gif file is supposed to work like this:

When the user hovers over the image and or link, the image is supposed to display a motion after which the remaining 2 layers of the gif image are supposed to repeat. Keep in mind that the final moment which the mouse remains hovered over the image, it is not in :active mode, but still, in :hover mode.

Can this be done? Have a gif that has only 2 or so images within the entire gif file only repeat while the others are cycled through only once?

It's not the image that does what you want, it's Javascript or CSS or Flash...

The image you set to hover is going to be your animated version while the others may be static. There's some issues with that though, animated files take up file size and may not be loaded up when roll over.

You could do it with multiple GIF files and a CSS/JS trick but you'll probably want to use Flash. I'd advise against using too much animation on your site.

I have barely learned the very basics of creating halftones in Illustrator. I am trying to turn a very subtle Gaussian blur into halftones.. anyone know the best way to do so? What do the different channels...

The angles of the blocks of text are inconsistent is the fist thing I noticed and then it was the way that red block calls attention to the woman's seemingly lazy eye. I would suggest not overlapping...

There really isn't an easy button for design. I've seen a few generators for these sorts of things but imho they're crap. I'm sure some people would think they're fabulous. If that's the look your looking...

I'd run the image over the edge of the text boxes. It looks like she's sad because she's being stabbed in the eye.
